Joy Whitlock is going on a Fall continuation of the Traveling Troubadors Tour. Learn more about the tour below and how you can help support the tour!
We are trying to raise money for a tour called The Traveling Troubadours “More Than A Show” that will head to Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia in October. To do “More Than A Show ” we step out of the normal touring box and play homeless shelters, nursing homes, outreaches etc.. to the least of these as well as the traditional venues, churches, home concerts etc.. playing mostly for love offerings. We also stay in these towns for several days to build relationships and friendships instead of just seeking fans and allow the artists to slow down enough to have meaningful conversations. The funds raised will go to downpayment of a vehicle to used on this and future tours, trailer purchase, fuel expenses and some meals. We seek host homes to stay in to develop friendships and help out expenses. We want the artists on the tours to not incur debt as they play and serve as they are called to do. The artists on the October leg are singer/songwriter Joy Whitlock (joywhitlock.com), husband and wife folk duo Carolina Story (carolinastory.com), and singer-songwriter Lara Landon (laralandon.com). The November leg will include singer/songwriter Amy Courts (amycourts.com), singer/songwriter Katy Kinard (myspace.com/katykinard), and Carolina Story, sponsored by Anchor Artists Agency.
-Anchor Artist Agency and the Traveling Troubadors Team
Sponsored by Anchor Artists Agency, with hearts to serve, critically acclaimed singer/songwriter Joy Whitlock ventures out on “Traveling Troubadours- More Than A Show ” a tour dedicated to reach the lost. Whitlock will be traveling beside sixth season’s American Idol contestant Sean Michel and new husband and wife duo Carolina Story as they take their ministry to churches, homeless shelters, hospitals and more across the country. The tour kicks off in Batesville, AR on April 7 and will carry through the spring drawing to a close in Texarkana, TX on May 3.
Looking at it from the perspective of “how would Jesus tour?” the “musicianaires” are approaching this tour as a chance to really show God’s love with their words and actions. With a storyteller-like feel, the artists will be speaking into the stories of the songs and connecting with those who are listening.
“The Traveling Troubadours is a chance to do something unheard of. It is a chance to give more than just a performance,” says Whitlock. “We are all excited to be a part of these beginnings.”
Easily recognized by his long hair and beard, Sean Michel made a lasting impression with his soulful vocal style on season six of the Fox Network’s hit television show American Idol. Since American Idol, Michel continues to gain a growing following worldwide.
Also joining Michel and Whitlock is new duo Carolina Story. With a mission to love, husband and wife Emily and Ben Roberts continue on their musical journey, doing all things in hopes that all who hear their music are inspired. They will be singing songs off their latest release “When The River Met The Sea.”
